It allows approximately 100 determinations of total alkalinity (the actual number depends on its size).
Correctly adjusted alkalinity stabilizes the pH, reduces the consumption of pH adjustment products and increases the effectiveness of chlorine. The tester is suitable for testing the alkalinity of chlorine and chlorine-free pool water treatment. The optimum alkalinity is usually given in the range of 80-120 mg/l CaCO3 (1.6-2.4 mmol/l).
Total alkalinity is also called intermediate or carbonate hardness.
The tester comes in a plastic blister and contains reagents, cups, instructions for use and technical information.
Determination of alkalinity:
Execution: dropwise titration with a step of 1 drop = 10mg/l CaCO3 = 0.2mmol/l
Reagents: A1 (120 determinations) and A2 (600 drops)
