Royal Pool & Spa Hardness Control · 1 l

Protection of water and equipment against deposits

Liquid water-hardness stabiliser and metal neutraliser. Binds calcium, magnesium, iron and manganese, reducing limescale, water discolouration and fouling of pool equipment.

Stabilises water hardness Binds iron and manganese Reduces limescale Protects equipment 1 L pack
Comprehensive protection

Hardness and metals under control

Hard or well water can cause white deposits, rough surfaces, coloured cloudiness and gradual fouling of pipework, filtration and heating.

1

Binds calcium and magnesium

Reduces calcium deposits on walls, in pipework and jets, and on heating elements.

2

Neutralises metals

Helps bind iron and manganese, which can cause brown, green or yellow water discolouration.

3

Protects equipment

Reduces fouling of filtration, pumps, pipework, heating and sensitive heat exchangers.

4

Prepares fresh water

Stabilises mineral composition before subsequent pH and alkalinity adjustment and disinfection.

Important sequence: adjust water hardness as one of the first parameters after filling with fresh water, before adjusting pH and applying disinfectant.
Dosing

Dose according to measured hardness

Optimum water hardness is 100–250 mg/l. After filling or topping up, first measure the current value.

Moderately hard water
30 ml / 1 m³

For measured water hardness in the range 125–250 mg/l.

Medium-hard water
60 ml / 1 m³

For measured water hardness in the range 250–375 mg/l.

Very hard water
90 ml / 1 m³

For hardness above 375 mg/l or significantly discoloured well water.

Usage overview

How much product will you need?

Approximate usage of a 1 L pack according to water volume and measured hardness.

Water volume 125–250 mg/l 250–375 mg/l Above 375 mg/L Coverage of a 1 L pack
0,5 m³ 15 ml 30 ml 45 ml Approx. 66 / 33 / 22 applications
1 m³ 30 ml 60 ml 90 ml Approx. 33 / 16 / 11 applications
1,5 m³ 45 ml 90 ml 135 ml Approx. 22 / 11 / 7 applications
5 m³ 150 ml 300 ml 450 ml Approx. 6 / 3 / 2 applications
10 m³ 300 ml 600 ml 900 ml Approx. 3 / 1 / 1 applications
20 m³ 600 ml 1 200 ml 1 800 ml Approx. 1 application for moderately hard water
For significantly discoloured well water, use the maximum dose of 90 ml per 1 m³. After 48 hours, Royal Pool & Spa Flocculant can be used to bind the resulting particles.
Directions for use

Correct application step by step

The concentrate must always be diluted with water in a separate plastic container before application.

1

Measure the hardness

After filling or topping up, measure the water hardness. The optimum value is 100–250 mg/L.

2

Determine the correct dose

According to measured hardness, use 30, 60 or 90 ml per 1 m³ of water.

3

Dilute the product

First dilute the measured amount in a plastic container of water. Do not pour the concentrate directly into the pool.

4

Apply with filtration running

Pour the prepared solution into the skimmer or distribute it evenly along the edge with filtration running.

5

Filter for 6–8 hours

Run filtration continuously for at least 6–8 hours. Temporary milky cloudiness is a normal reaction.

6

Check the water

After 24–48 hours, take a control measurement and then adjust the pH to 6.8–7.2.

When to use the product

From hard water to metal discolouration

Typical problems

  • Hard water after refilling
  • White calcium deposits
  • Brown, green or yellow water
  • Well water containing metals
  • Fouling of filtration and equipment
  • Limescale in the hot tub

Suitable uses

  • Family and public pools
  • Inflatable and acrylic hot tubs
  • Bathing barrels and Nordic tubs
  • Swim spas and plunge pools
  • Hotel pools and wellness facilities
  • Fresh, salt and well water
Regular monitoring: measure hardness in pools approximately every two weeks. For hot tubs, check hardness weekly.
