The ideal pH value when using chlorine-free and chlorine water disinfection is 7.0-7.4. If the pH leaves this defined range, to reduce the effectiveness and increase the consumption of disinfectants.

At low ph (pH < 7.2), pool and hot tub parts corrode faster and the colors of plastic and foils in the pool and hot tub fade faster. At a high pH (> 7.6), the water becomes cloudy and algae forms. Conjunctiva and skin irritation may also occur.
